Cherokee Chapter

The National Federation of the Blind of SC (NFB of SC) has chapters throughout the state. The Cherokee Chapter is very active in the community! Jamie Allison has served as the chapter President since the Fall of 2014! Jamie would not be able to be a great leader without the support of her current board members – Vice President James Byers, Secretary Martha Stockwell, Treasurer Grady Dawkins, and support from the other members of the Cherokee Chapter.

The Cherokee Chapter of the NFB of SC’s meetings are held every 2nd Thursday at 1:00 p.m. via Zoom, or an alternate day, if in person, the 3rd Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at Senior Centers of Cherokee County, Inc. located at 499 W. Rutledge Ave. Gaffney, SC. Currently, the meetings are being held using Zoom, until it is safe to once again meet in person. Please contact Jamie Allison for the meeting information.

The National Federation of the Blind celebrates Meet the Blind Month every October. Throughout the month, our members conduct a variety of outreach activities. The Cherokee Chapter of the NFB of SC will be holding an awareness booth at Ace Hardware at 113 W. Buford St. in Gaffney On Saturday, October 24th, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., come by and see us!
