The Charleston Chapter has a long positive history with the NFB of SC as the third oldest Chapter, having been formed in 1955. The Charleston Chapter is an integral part of the NFB of SC with the goal to create an alliance with the blind, visually impaired and interested sighted persons in the local chapters and state meetings to plan and carry out programs as well as social and community events to improve the quality of life for the blind and visually impaired as well as educate persons about the NFB, in an effort to assist with building the Federation.
