For many years, one of the ways the National Federation of the Blind has promoted tactile access for the blind to art has been the Art Room and exhibits at our National Convention every year. As always, the art room will welcome aspiring and accomplished artists alike in Orlando. Drop-in activities are from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4 and Thursday, June 5. Drop by to draw or sculpt on your own and with your friends. This year you can also get involved with a community art project led by Jenny Callahan. No skills required for the community project – just a willingness to take part..
But wait – there’s more!!
Artist-to-Artist Art Exhibit
6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, July 4
All artists are invited. The price of admission is a piece of art to show other artists. This will be a golden opportunity to share your ideas, techniques, inspiration, and generally encouraging one another to discover new means of creating tactile art.
Artist-to-Public Art Exhibit
6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 5 –
All artists are invited to return to share and discuss their art pieces with the public.
Check the Convention Agenda for location, and see you in Orlando!
